3 · The meaning index

Built on your computer, once.

When you turn Sage on, a small multilingual model runs in a Web Worker on your machine. It reads the opening of each note and stores 384 numbers that capture its meaning. A note is embedded again only when it changes.

First 1,000 characters per note · 384 dimensions · batches of ten · re-embedded only on change · computed locally.

The built-in index is the starting choice and sends no note text anywhere. A Cloud API index exists for those who want it, and the settings say so before you pick it.
