Your notes never come to us.
This page covers two things: the Sylvics vault you install, and this website. The short version: the vault keeps everything on your computer, and the website collects only what you type into a form.
The vault
- Your notes are Markdown files on your computer. There is no Sylvics account and no Sylvics server that receives them.
- Licence check. When you enter a licence key, the plugin sends the key, and only the key, to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to confirm it is valid. It checks again when Obsidian starts.
- Plugin updates. When you ask the vault to check for plugin or theme updates, Obsidian contacts the places those plugins are published.
- Sage is off by default. If you turn it on with a cloud provider, your question and the notes selected as context go directly from your computer to the provider you chose, under that provider's terms. With Ollama, nothing leaves your computer. You can exclude any note, tag or folder.
- Stored keys. Your licence key and any provider keys are saved in plain text in the plugin's settings file inside your vault. Remove that file before sharing a copy of the vault.
This website
- No cookies, no advertising trackers.
- Beta applications and the newsletter. When you apply, we receive your email address and your answers (your system, your Obsidian experience, your current tools, how you heard of us and, if you ticked any on the home page or in the quiz, the problems you recognised). We use them to select testers, to contact you about the beta and, unless you unsubscribe, to tell you about Sylvics. They are stored with our email provider, Kit (ConvertKit LLC, United States), which processes them on our behalf under standard contractual clauses. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link or by writing to us.
- Retention. Applications are kept until the end of the beta programme, and newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe.
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
- Audience measurement. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
