Tram line 4 extension opens to Marsh End

🎯TL;DR
Line 4 now runs past Greywater Docks to a new terminus in Marsh End, with trams every ten minutes in the daytime. For me it replaces a tram, a bus and a wet walk on Saturday mornings with one seat.
🤔WHY IT MATTERS
Saturdays. From 🚉 Lindgate Street tram stop, ninety metres from our door, to the door of 🏋️ Chalkline Climbing without changing. I timed the first run on 8 March: thirty-three minutes, against fifty on a bad day by bus. Caleb, who cycles, is unmoved.
The vet. 🏥 Marsh End Veterinary Practice is two stops before the end. Pallet in her carrier on a single tram is a different proposition from Pallet in her carrier on a bus.
Work, slightly. Half the people I know at ☕ Quay House live along this line. The extension moves the last stop from our office to somewhere else, so the 08:10 is no longer guaranteed empty when it reaches Fennick. I got a seat today. I am not counting on it.
What I would ask 🏢 Vellan Transit. The article gives the opening-day frequency and no figure for reliability. Show me Tuesday.
⚡QUICK JOTS
- Fictional local news, from a paper that does not exist about a city that does not either.
- From Monday 3 March, line 4 no longer turns round at Greywater Docks. It carries on for three more stops into Marsh End.
- The new terminus is outside the old tram shed. The old tram shed is now 🏋️ Chalkline Climbing. A tram line has been extended to a building that used to be where trams slept, and nobody at 🏢 Vellan Transit seems to have found this as funny as I do.
- The Courier gave it the front page and a photograph of a councillor holding a very large pair of scissors.
- Read on the 08:10 itself, on the day the second load test went green. A good Monday by the standards of that winter.
