Three-comment editor prompt
🛠️ Three-comment editor prompt
💡 Use Case
- A stand-in for Noor Haddad when she is away or the draft is too rough to send her: the model reads an issue draft and returns exactly three comments, in her format from 🧭 Noor's three comments.
- Only for drafts that already exist. The 300 words of 🔹 Write 300 words are never written by anything but me.
- First used on 18 June, the week issue 42 went out, when Noor was at a book fair.
How I use it
- Paste the finished draft, names already removed.
- Ask for one cut, one question, one line you liked, and nothing else.
- Take the cut seriously, answer the question in the draft, ignore the compliment.
- If the issue matters, send it to Noor anyway.
Record, October
Used on six drafts. Noor's comments changed five issues; this changed two. It stays in the library as a spare tyre.
⚖️ Pros & Cons
Pros
- Three comments is a limit a model respects better than any thoughts?
- The cut is usually right. It finds the paragraph where I was clearing my throat.
Cons
- The line it liked is always the most quotable one, never the truest one.
- Its question is polite. Noor's question is the one I was avoiding.
- It has never once told me the piece is not ready.
🔄 Alternatives
- Noor. Slower, better, and she notices when I am hiding.
- Reading the draft aloud to Pallet, who leaves at the weak paragraph.
