🛠️ Subject line shortlist prompt

💡 Use Case

Ten candidate subject lines from a finished draft, each under fifty characters. I pick one and usually rewrite it. First used on 30 July for the issue that admitted the skipped one; the first line I kept nearly whole was for 📝 Issue 45 - Pull, do not push.

⚖️ Pros & Cons

Pros

• ten bad lines make the good one obvious, and I no longer spend Wednesday night on four words.

Cons

• seven of the ten contain a colon and three promise a secret. Left to itself it would turn 📂 Slack in the System - 2025 issues into a list of things nobody tells you.

🔄 Alternatives

• The title of the permanent note the issue grew from. It is the subject line more often than I admit.
