🛠️ Quay photographs, scanned
💡 Use Case
Dad's prints of the Averley quay, found in the fourth of the eleven boxes and scanned over two weekends, the last of them on Saturday 10 May. Thirty-eight prints, most from the 1990s: cranes, barges, a works outing, No. 4 from every angle. Not for publication. A private archive, filed under tools only because this is where scans live. They belong with 🕰️ Saturday mornings on the Averley quay.
Rule
None of these goes in the newsletter, on a slide or anywhere with a caption written by me. If the museum in Averley ever asks, Mum decides.
⚖️ Pros & Cons
Pros
- they are safe now. The prints went back into their envelope and into 🛠️ Under-bed storage for the boxes; the scans are in the nightly backup, which is two more places than they had for thirty years.
Cons
- he wrote nothing on the backs. I can name four of the men and Mum can name nine. Nobody can name the dog.
🔄 Alternatives
- Leaving them in the box, which was the plan for six years.
