Estuary photographs for headers

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Estuary photographs for headers

๐Ÿ’ก Use Case

  • Twelve of my own scans from the ๐Ÿž๏ธ Vell Estuary, sorted on Sunday 10 August and cleared for use as headers: on the newsletter, on slides, on the top of a note.
  • Cleared means three things. I took it, nobody is in it, and nothing in it identifies a company: no vessel names, no logos on containers.
  • All from ๐Ÿช Film photography, one roll a month, mostly taken on the morning loop. Mudflats at low water, the ferry landing, cranes on the south bank from far enough away to be shapes, waders in January that are honestly dots.
  • Four are winter, five are the long June evenings, three are fog.

โš–๏ธ Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No licence to read and nobody to credit.
  • They look like where I live, which no stock picture of a container port has managed.
  • Grain hides the fact that several are not sharp.

Cons

  • Twelve is not many, and nine of them are horizontal grey.
  • I have had them for months and used none. The masthead has no picture and I am not allowed to give it one.
  • Twenty-three others failed the test, most for having a person in them. Edith with the binoculars is the best photograph I took all year and it stays in the drawer.

๐Ÿ”„ Alternatives

  • No header image at all, which is what actually happens.
  • A drawing. I have six bathtubs.
