Chalkline circuit colours
๐ TL;DR / Quick Summary <div style="background: rgba(0,0,0,0.3); border: 1px dashed rgba(255,255,255,0.2); padding: 15px; border-radius: 8px; color: rgba(255,255,255,0.7); margin-bottom: 30px;"> Which tag colour is which grade band at ๐๏ธ Chalkline Climbing, and when each part of the wall is stripped and reset. Copied from the board by the front desk on 12 March 2022, my second Saturday, and checked against the board again this autumn. Nothing has changed except the pink. </div>
๐ ๏ธ Instructions / Core Material
| Tag colour | Font band | What I use it for |
|---|---|---|
| White | 3 to 4 | Warming up. Twice round the slab wall. |
| Green | 4 to 5 | Still warming up, honestly. |
| Orange | 5 to 5+ | The twenty problems of ๐๏ธ Saturday bouldering - volume |
| Purple | 5+ to 6A+ | Most Saturdays. Where the 6A lives. |
| Red | 6A+ to 6B+ | Projects. One at a time. |
| Black | 6C and up | Watching Caleb |
| Pink | not graded | Winter league problems, October to March |
Reset
- One sector every Thursday, so a problem lives for about six weeks.
- Order: slab wall, the long vertical, left overhang, right overhang, the cave, then round again.
- A new set is quiet on Friday evening and a scrum on Saturday at 11:00. That is when we go. We have discussed this and changed nothing.
โ ๏ธ Key Warnings / Constraints
- The colour is the tag at the start, not the holds. The holds are whatever colour Dario had in the box. The small yellow crimp of March was on a red tag. The blue problem in the cave was a red tag too.
- If a project is on the sector due this Thursday, it is this Saturday or never. I have lost two that way.
- Bands overlap on purpose. A purple can be harder than a red if it is a slab and I am me.
